Vienna Driver Fatally Injured in Head-On Tree Collision

A 56-year-old driver from Vienna lost his life in a tragic single-vehicle accident on Saturday evening in the district of Bruck an der Leitha.

According to the Lower Austrian State Police Directorate, the incident occurred on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at approximately 8:40 PM on the L2001 road. The man, a resident of Vienna’s Landstraße district, was traveling from the B10 toward Trautmannsdorf an der Leitha.

At road kilometer 1.74, the vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway for reasons that remain under investigation. The car then struck a tree in a violent head-on collision.

Despite the rapid response of emergency services, the driver sustained massive injuries and died at the scene. Police confirmed the details of the accident on Sunday morning, noting that no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
