iOcean has recently announced an Octa-core phone called, the iOcean X8 Smartphone. The phone is a huge departure from its predecessor iOcean X7 smartphone, but like X7 borrows much of its design influence from Oppo and the X7 looked like the Oppo Find 5, while the X8 looks more like the Oppo R1 only much larger. The smartphone features a 5.7 inch FHD LTPS screen with stunning 1080 × 1920 pixel resolution and 16M color display. This is one very elegant looking phone and certainly looks a whole lot better than the majority of MediaTek smartphone currently on the market today. It is not good in looks, but as well as made from carefully selected and high quality materials. Both the front and back panels of the phone are made of Corning Gorilla glass and the designer has incorporated a very slight recess bezel design.

The smartphone runs on the Android v4. 4 KitKat operating system. The phone is powered by an Octa core ARM Cortex A7 chipset: Mediatek MT6592 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz. For the graphics, the phone is packed an ARM Mali 450 MP4 graphic processor. In terms of memory and storage, the phone comes with 2GB of RAM along with 32GB of internal storage.

As far as the cameras concerned, the phone sports a 14.2 megapixel rear camera with single LED flash, while on the front of the device, there is a 5 megapixel front facing camera for selfie shooter. The camera features include CMOS image sensor, continuous shooting, exposure compensation, face detection, Geo tagging, High dynamic range mode HDR, ISO control, touch focus and white balance presets.

The smartphone boasts a 2,650mAh non-removable battery which might be enough for to turn off potential buyers. Other feature included Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Mobile hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, and USB port for charging and data transfer.
