CNN poll shows Obama with big lead in Virginia

A CNN poll of likely Virginia voters Sept. 28-30 showed Illinois Sen. Barack Obama (D) with a significant lead over Arizona Sen. John McCain (R) in the presidential race.

The poll showed that 53 percent of likely voters surveyed favored Obama and 44 percent favored McCain, with a 4 percent margin of error. A poll a few weeks earlier showed 50 percent of registered voters favoring McCain and 46 percent favoring Obama.

Factoring in the non-major-party candidates who will be on the ballot, the latest poll showed 52 percent favoring Obama and 42 percent favoring McCain.
