Police investigate fatal crash on Herndon Parkway

Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Tuesday morning on Herndon Parkway.

At 9:56 a.m. July 29, officers responded to the Herndon Parkway near Cavendish Street for a motorcycle crash.

Preliminary investigation by the Herndon Police crash reconstruction officers is that the driver, Scott T. Norman, 31, of Herndon was traveling eastbound on Herndon Parkway approaching Cavendish Street. Norman lost control, crossed over the median and struck a barrier. Norman was pronounced dead at Reston Hospital.

Following the crash, Herndon Parkway from Dranesville Road to Worchester Street was closed in both directions for nearly three hours.

Witnesses or anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact the Herndon Police Department by phone at 703-435-6846.
