Man arrested for assaulting 11-year-old

WEDNESDAY, JULY 2 2008

Fairfax County Police arrested a 46-year-old man after he allegedly sexually assaulted a child in the Springfield area.

An 11-year-old Springfield-area girl was walking alone to her apartment in the 7000 block of Skyles Way around 2:55 p.m. July 1 when a maintenance employee from the complex approached her in the stairwell, according to police. The suspect kissed the victim and touched her inappropriately then walked away, police said.

The victim immediately reported the incident. Police arrested Gregorio Arias, of 5825 14th St. NW in Washington, D.C., and charged him with aggravated sexual battery.
